BRS 36 – The Emperor Has No Clothes (2023 Offseason Review and Season Preview)

After dragging for what seemed like an eternity the off-season has finally come to a close and we can look forward to real football being played! In this preseason we had some surprises, our kicker struggled mightily, there were injuries to some players with a ton of potential, there are career concerns due to injuries to a cornerstone of the team, the defense looked good, the offense was inconsistent, the special teams units looked abysmal, there have already been some surprising cuts and there are sure to be more, and contracts are being restructured for what could potentially be one more big splash in free agency or via trade. In other news, Tito is most likely retiring from coaching the Guards, QBs are on the move across the NFL, RBs are still having issues getting paid, we’ve got an update on our boy Anthony Kendall, injuries are ending games, there were some tragic celebrity deaths, India landed on the moon, and the 2023 season and the expectations that come with it need discussed. BRS 22 – Cleveland Browns Shark Week

The Browns are in full off-season mode and we’re along for the ride! There are a number of former Browns that it might make sense to bring back, there are some current Browns that it may make sense to trade or let go, the Cavs are desperately trying to gel, the Guardians and all of Cleveland lost a lifelong fan and dear friend, we roll out the Troll Patrol, the AFC and NFC Championship games couldn’t be more on opposite ends of the entertainment spectrum, the Super Bowl is set, the Browns have 4 Pro Bowlers to send to this weeks’ “Pro Bowl Games”, we welcome you to our version of shark week and have facts for days… all while Kenny coughs up a lung and spends the show trying to succumb to pneumonia… And we break it all down for you on the Burning River Sportscast!

BRS 16 – Browns Week 15 Recap and Week 16 Preview

Now that the pressure is off, the Browns promptly took care of business at home against a division rival. The defense forced some turnovers, Myles Garrett and the D-Line beat up on an inexperienced QB, and Justin Tucker helped out by inexplicably going 1/3 on his FGs in this one and the Browns were able to reward the Dawg Pound and the rest of the home crowd with a win!

Their only goal from here on out is to help Deshaun Watson progress as much as possible before the end of the season. We have seen some flashes of the Pro-Bowler that they are paying a guaranteed $230MM but he has yet to put together a complete game. And that doesn’t look like it is going to change on Christmas Eve against the Saints as the weather will be brutal and no one will be able to feel their faces, arms, legs, or any other appendages that you can think of.
