BRS 17 – Browns Week 16 Recap and Week 17 Preview

After another poor showing in week 16 the Cleveland Browns lost to the lowly New Orleans Saints and watched themselves be officially eliminated from playoff contention. If that wasn’t bad enough, the Steelers, who are in complete rebuild mode, passed Cleveland in the AFC North standings.

The coaching staff looks lost from top to bottom, the locker room seems to be turning on Stefanski, they’ve got Team Captains being benched, and they couldn’t beat a team that hadn’t won on the road since week 1. The problems are piling up but the end of the season is near to put us all out of our misery and help us turn the page and look forward to what we hope is a much brighter future. BRS 16 – Browns Week 15 Recap and Week 16 Preview

Now that the pressure is off, the Browns promptly took care of business at home against a division rival. The defense forced some turnovers, Myles Garrett and the D-Line beat up on an inexperienced QB, and Justin Tucker helped out by inexplicably going 1/3 on his FGs in this one and the Browns were able to reward the Dawg Pound and the rest of the home crowd with a win!

Their only goal from here on out is to help Deshaun Watson progress as much as possible before the end of the season. We have seen some flashes of the Pro-Bowler that they are paying a guaranteed $230MM but he has yet to put together a complete game. And that doesn’t look like it is going to change on Christmas Eve against the Saints as the weather will be brutal and no one will be able to feel their faces, arms, legs, or any other appendages that you can think of.
