BRS 41 – Week 5: The Bye Week Blues

The Cleveland Browns have made it to their BYE week and in this roller coaster of a season they’ve sent their fans to the break singing the blues.

It seems like the Browns were ‘Born Under a Bad Sign’. Our $230M QB said “‘I’d Rather Go Blind’ than be a ‘Working Man'”. On the other hand we had ‘Big Chief’ saying “Fire? ‘It Hurts Me Too’. But ‘I’m a Man’. And I’m going to show my ‘Pride and Joy’ for this team!” And after a devastating defeat at the hands of the Ratbirds all the fans had the ‘Stormy Monday Blues” and were screaming “‘The Thrill is Gone’!” or “‘I’m Tore Down'”.

But we’re Browns fans. And the bottom line is this: Every single one of us is thinking “‘I Can’t Quit you Baby'”. Because even though you keep us ‘Rollin and Tumblin’, drive us ‘Stone Crazy’, and often have us singing the ‘Crazy Blues’, we all know that when the BYE rolls around or the season ends we’ll be saying ‘Please Don’t Go’.

So here’s to hoping that coming out of the BYE the Browns will be saying “‘I Got My Mojo Back'” and they ‘Get Back’ to the team we saw weeks 1 and 3 that demolished their opponents. Because ‘Nobody Knows You When You’re Down and Out’ and at the end of the season we don’t want to see a bunch of fans with their ‘Leaving Trunk’ wondering how the Browns can be so ‘Evil’. Instead we want them seeing ‘Bright Lights in the Big City’ and yelling ‘Boom Boom’ because the Browns are back in the playoffs and they all realize that your Cleveland Football Team will forever be the ‘Sunshine of Your Love’!

BRS 23 – The Pro Bowl is Pro Bull

The Pro Bowl Games took place this past week and it was exactly what we thought it would be… a bunch of Pro Bull!

The Browns had 4 players participate, 1 got hurt, former Browns TE Ben Watson talks about his worst interview ever, Deshaun Watson thinks he is in a movie, there are a TON of options to be his backup next year, Joe Woods found a new home, Joe Thomas may be heading home to Canton this week, the Cavs are keeping pace in the East and tried to beat up Dillon Brooks and the Grizzlies in the process, LeBron James is the new all-time leading scorer in the NBA, spring training starts soon for the Guardians, Troll Patrol and Facts for Days is back, it is officially Super Bowl week, a Chinese “Weather” balloon traversed the nation, and a train derailed in Ohio literally ripping a plot from a Netflix movie… And we break it all down for you on the Burning River Sportscast!

BRS 19 – Browns Week 18 Recap, Season Review, and NFL Playoff Preview

The calamity that was the 2022-2023 Cleveland Browns campaign finally came to a harsh conclusion this week as the Browns got thoroughly embarrassed by their division rivals, the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Browns once again looked completely outclassed, they finished last in the division yet again, there were some coaching changes with possibly more looming, there are decisions to be made regarding roster building, and there are so many teams that will continue their season next week in the NFL Playoffs. And we break it all down for you on the Burning River Sportscast!

BRS 16 – Browns Week 15 Recap and Week 16 Preview

Now that the pressure is off, the Browns promptly took care of business at home against a division rival. The defense forced some turnovers, Myles Garrett and the D-Line beat up on an inexperienced QB, and Justin Tucker helped out by inexplicably going 1/3 on his FGs in this one and the Browns were able to reward the Dawg Pound and the rest of the home crowd with a win!

Their only goal from here on out is to help Deshaun Watson progress as much as possible before the end of the season. We have seen some flashes of the Pro-Bowler that they are paying a guaranteed $230MM but he has yet to put together a complete game. And that doesn’t look like it is going to change on Christmas Eve against the Saints as the weather will be brutal and no one will be able to feel their faces, arms, legs, or any other appendages that you can think of. BRS 10 – Browns Bye Week Breakdown and Week 10 Preview

The Cleveland Browns could not disappoint this week as they were on their bye and there was absolutely no chance of losing! They come out of it rested, relatively healthy, and ready to try to make a run and put themselves in a good position for when Deshaun Watson returns in a few weeks.

In the spirit of the break and election season, Kenny Stefanik (not coach of the Cleveland Browns) delivers his first annual “State of the Browns Address”.

The Browns have under-performed this year, their backs are against the wall, they need to win 2 out of their next 3 games to give Watson a chance, and it starts with a huge game in Miami this week against the ultimate bromance, Tua and Tyreek. BRS 9 – Browns Week 8 Recap and BYE Week Breakdown

On Halloween night, Monday Night Football, and in front of a prime time audience, our Cleveland Browns came screaming out of the grave they had dug themselves the last few weeks and haunted the Bengals’ all night until Joey B. and the boys were seeing ghosts! We were treated to monster performances on All Hallows’ Eve from Batman (Nick Chubb) and Vecna (Myles Garret), Pumpkin Head was representin’ and the rest of the Dawg Pound was howling at the moon all night long as the Browns thoroughly disemboweled and dismembered their opponents in this one!

Up next the Browns get a chance to rest up and get healthy as Week 9 is the much needed BYE. It’s time to regroup and gear up for the last stretch before QB1, Deshaun Watson, returns and attempts to carry us to the promised land.

And although the Browns were quiet at the deadline, the rest of the league provided absolute madness and brought the NFL trade deadline into the 21st Century of American sports. And we break it all down for you on the Burning River Sportscast!
